Visit the Danish Soldiers' Memorial at Rindsholm Kro – a peaceful and respectful place just outside Viborg, dedicated to the more than 100,000 Danes who have been deployed in the service of peace for the UN, NATO, OSCE and the EU.
A place for reflection and remembrance
In the park by the historic Rindsholm Kro – located by Nørre Å south of Viborg – you will find the memorial grove, where soldiers from all three branches of the armed forces and international missions are honoured. Here you will find memorial stones, monuments and name plaques that tell the story of Danish efforts in international operations since 1956.
Annual ceremonies
The memorial grove is an open place for conversation and reflection for veterans, relatives and visitors alike, and on 4 July each year, a ceremony is held to commemorate fallen and deployed soldiers. From Viborg, it is a short trip to the site, where the green surroundings and peaceful atmosphere make for a meaningful visit – ideal as part of a historical or cultural excursion in the region.
